My son and I both have colds. Mine started last night. My son has had his since late last week. I was very lazy this weekend. All we did was go to the beach, watch tv and eat. It was great.

The ex-boyfriend stopped by the jewelry store today to show me the truck he bought. It's pretty cool. He looks good. I'm glad we're still friends. I've never had an ex-boyfriend that I stayed friends with.

Got chores to do................

I've had two people tell me that my hair looks good.

I hope they weren't lying.

One thing about this color is that it makes my eyes look greener.

First day of fall........big deal, in Hawaii you can barely tell when the seasons change.

Tomorrow is hump day...........

Somebody didn't pray hard enough........

It was still orange. BUMMER! So, what the hell, we went to the beach.

When we got home I discovered I had another box of hair coloring under the bathroom sink. So first I did the patch test. You know, cut some hair off, let it soak in the solution for the allotted time. I cut some of the orange hair off to see how it would take the color. And it came out okay. So I mixed up the stuff, put it on my hair, ate a salad, then rinsed it off.

My hair is not exactly how I would like it to look but I guess I can live with it. The parts that were orange are now burgundy. They're still lighter than the rest of my hair but AT LEAST THEY AREN'T ORANGE!

Now.........I need everyone to pray real hard, every day, maybe twice a day, pretty please, that my hair grows extra super fast......

I decided to color my hair this morning. Some time ago I purchased one of those two-step haircoloring products. First you color, then you highlight. The coloring part went off without a hitch. Then it was time to highlight. Doing this alone takes some time. Even more time when you have past shoulder length hair. By the time I was finished applying the highlight stuff it was just about time to rinse it out of my hair. I had a suspicion something was weird and when I looked in the mirror the highlighted portions of my hair were orange. That's right, ORANGE. Trick or treat anyone?

So I had some leftover coloring stuff left so I hurridly applied that to the top portions of my hair where the highlighting stuff was. It's just about time to rinse it off so I am praying that the color comes out not orange. Oh please, pray for me..........

One day, two beaches........

So we headed to our favorite beach today. When we got there it was sunny. The water was rougher than usual, but this time of year the surf is on the south shore. We got our chairs set up and it got cloudy. And it stayed cloudy but we stuck around anyway. There were big, heavy black clouds over the mountains. It was kinda nice in a way because with the clouds it wasn't as hot as when the sun is out. But after a couple hours it started to rain so we left.

And headed to our second favorite beach on the east side where it was sunny and warm. We stayed about an hour and headed home.

It was a very mellow day.....

No news is good news...

If there were a competition for most boring blog I would win, hands down.

The week has come and gone and nothing significant has occured in my life. I went to work, I did laundry, I paid someone to install a new disposal in my kitchen sink, I paid bills, I bought groceries, I slept, I ate, watched tv. How exicting.......

I'm trying to figure out a cheap way to get a picture of my son for his school yearbook. I refuse to go to a professional photographer. A digital photo is not recommended. My camera is broken so I guess I'll be getting one of those disposable cameras and posing him somewhere outside. It's due by 9/26 so I better get off my butt.......

Today we went to the beach. I wanted to go in the water but I have some stitches on my upper arm and the doctor said no swimming. I could have gone in most of the way but, oh well, at least the wind was blowing so it wasn't too hot sitting on the beach.

I have Monday off. The jewelry store is having new carpet installed in both the sales area and the office which means I can't get on the computers so I'm off without pay. That hurts the checking account but it will be nice to have a day to myself. Wish I was on Oahu as there's tons of things to do there. But I'm not so I wonder what I will do with myself......

It's amazing how companies stay in business.....

With the state of customer service today it's truly amazing how companies stay in business.

I'm extremely upset with my cable tv service provider. They recently upgraded the entire island to digital and they've been advertising the fact no end. So I called them on Wednesday to see how much more it costs to upgrade to digital. It's not that much more so I decided to go for it. I had a very pleasant conversation with the cable customer service rep on the phone. I inquired as to what the hours were for the office on this island and she told me. As their hours are not compatible with my working hours I decided to take advantage of their Saturday hours.

So this morning I unhooked my cable box and drove to their office to exchange it for a digital box. We walk in the office and right away I knew there was a problem. There's a sign taped to a tv that say they are out of digital boxes. So I wait patiently while the gentleman in front of me gets his new digital box tested. Then it's my turn. I tell them that I came in to exchange my cable box for a digital one but see that the sign says they are out. I inquire as to how long they've been out. About 3 weeks. I ask why they don't tell people that on the phone? A guy sitting off to the side says because the call goes to Honolulu. He goes on to say that Honolulu is aware of the fact that they are out of digital boxes but isn't very good about passing that information on. I respond that it might be a good idea and very helpful if in fact they do pass that info on. So.......they'll be calling me when a box is available.

Unbelievable! If they had told me on the phone that no digital boxes were available on my island and put me on the list to be called for when they do come in they could have saved me making a special trip on my day off using up gas I could have used for a legitimate reason.

Hey, Oceanic Time-Warner Cable.....get a clue!

And they lost money on me. I wanted to see a pay-per-view movie tonight. But now you can only get pay-per-view if you have a digital box.

Otherwise I had a very pleasant day at the beach with my son. The water was great. Not too cold. I think my lips got sunburned.

This was cool over the weekend......as usual, we hit the beach all three days of this long weekend. On Sunday while sitting at a beach not far from our house I saw a turtle in the water. He stuck his head out of the water several times and I also saw the top of his shell. That was cool.

Then on Monday we went to Salt Pond. My son and I were in the water for about half an hour then I sat on the beach and he went back in the water and was hanging out with some people in the water. All of a sudden I heard someone yell Monk Seal! I looked up and a Hawaiian Monk Seal was swimming towards shore. Everyone bailed out of the water. It was a big one and it got close to shore then swam along the shore. I called for my son to get out of the water cuz the monk seal was getting close to him. He ran up onto the beach and the monk seal turned and swam the other way. Everyone on the beach was watching it. Then it went underwater and we didn't see it again. That was pretty exciting. I hadn't seen one for several months. Usually they come up on the beach to sleep for several hours before heading back out to sea.

and.....there was no summer love.......

I must have blinked......

...because I think I missed summer.

How can it be September already?
I didn't go camping.
I didn't eat any watermelon.
I didn't attend any picnics.
I barely saw any fireworks.
I didn't have a bar-b-que.
What happened to summer?

Damn, I really wanted to go camping and sleep under the stars with my summer love. I wanted to eat watermelon at a picnic with a bbq and fireworks.

I feel like I've been cheated.

If anybody sees my life could they let me know? I'd like it back.
