Pride of Hawaii off Kealia...

This is the view I had while my son ate his fast food after the beach today. We've been having unreal weather for the last few days. Earlier in the week we had 40 mph winds and drizzly rain all day Thursday. Then Friday dawned perfectly clear and it held all weekend. I'm not a football fan so we hit the beach again today - Nukoli'i. Aside from some surfers who left soon after we got there we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Except for one guy who sunbathes nude, but he has a spot surrounded by bushes where he does his thing. The tide was so low today the reef was almost completely exposed.

Lucky Live Kaua'i...

This was the view of the mountains from my beach chair yesterday at Salt Pond. Not one cloud crossed the sun while we we there. The water was flat and calm. Perfect for snorkeling (I'm not a snorkeler). After Salt Pond we went for a walk on Pakala's. I swear, that beach is never the same. The sand constantly shifts depending on how big the surf is. We walked all the way to the end and even hopped the fence and continued walking all the way to the Russian Fort. Then we had to walk all the way back.
