Have You Ever Done Anything So Stupid You Don't Want To Tell Anyone What You Did?

Well, I have. A while ago (like months) somehow when I had the hood open on my car one of the latches "accidentally" got adjusted so the hood wouldn't close properly. Then while I was driving down the road the hood flew open and I had to pull over and close it. Only it wouldn't close all the way so I had to tie it shut with rope. As they say here "MAKE ASS". Total ass.

So, a few days later I was having some work done on my car so I asked if they could try to get the hood shut. They were able to get it shut. Big mistake.

Cuz now it won't open. I guess the hinges got bent and I have to take it to a body shop to get it fixed. Which means I have to make an appointment which means I have to leave my car there which means I have to ask someone to pick me up and take me to work which means I'm stuck at work without a car which means I can't go home for lunch which means I have to buy lunch somewhere which means spending money I don't have and then I have to find someone to drive me back to pick up my car. In other words, I haven't gotten it fixed yet. And I can't check the fluid levels (oil, power steering, brake, coolant, etc) which is freaking me out because it's even worse to be broken down on the side of the road here than it is to be without your car for one day. Can anyone say p-r-o-c-r-a-s-t-i-n-a-t-e?

Not only that but it needs to be serviced and I need to have the brakes done. And the thingie that holds up the rear door when you open it rusted and broke off so whenever I want to open the back hood I have to hold it with one hand and put in/take out stuff with the other. Which isn't easy when you have several bags of groceries or several baskets of laundry.

And I need to get an estimate for the insurance company on how much it will cost to repair the damage to the drivers door where that asshole backed into me.

But The Beach Was Nice This Weekend.....

We went to Salt Pond on Saturday. There were some swells rolling in so the water was a little rough. Then we went for a walk on Pakala's and it was totally deserted. Not even any surfers. Totally flat. But it was super hot. We waded into the stream that flows to the ocean and the water was like ice water. It felt so good. And there were hundreds of tadpoles in the water.

Sunday we went to Maha'ulepu and it was almost deserted. There was a monk seal sleeping on the beach at the point and mostly everyone was checking it out. The surf was up and the water was rough but we went in anyway to cool off. Afterwards we drove almost to the end of the road and walked up on the cliff. It was so hot we didn't stay too long.

And Then I Watched A Show Sunday Night That Depressed Me And It Was So Hot I Couldn't Sleep Well And Woke Up Grumpy...

I can't remember what show it was but it was sad and I felt depressed most of the day today. I think what contributed to the depression was the ex-boyfriend called collect from jail and told me he missed me and he sounded really choked up when he said it. And I feel guilty about avoiding his calls for two weeks and causing him to be feel that way. Geez, pass the Kleenex already.

Anyway, time to nag the son about taking his shower so I can try to get some sleep tonight.

Oh joy, tomorrow is laundry day.
