I'll Follow The Sun......

If it gets cloudy and starts to rain at the first beach you go to, then find another beach where it's sunny.

And that's just what we did. We started out at Salt Pond. It was a little cloudy but got sunny for about a hour. Then a huge black cloud drifted over from Kekaha and it started to rain.

So we bailed and headed for the south shore. I wasn't sure where we were going but it looked sunny there.

And it was. We ended up at Maha'ulepu. We couldn't use the normal path we take to the beach because "Kevin & Janine" had it roped off along with half the parking lot. So we took the other path. The one that goes uphill over the sand dune and through the bushes then downhill to the beach.

You try carrying a beach bag, a beach chair and a cooler loaded with beverages through the bushes up a sand dune and then down the other side of the sand dune without getting winded. So we ended up sitting a little closer than we usually do to some other beachgoers. Usually I like to give people their space (and I like for them to give me mine).

Because I was exhausted from the hike nobody got their space today. But everybody got some sun.

Are All Property Managers This Lame?????

While backing out of the driveway this afternoon a friend of the couple who live in the studio at the back of my house knocked over the post with the mailboxes on it. I heard a strange sound and looked out the window. I couldn't see what was hit because his car was parallel to the road. So I walked to another window and saw him putting the post with the mailboxes on it back up. He looked around (like did anybody see me?) and got in his car and drove off. But not before I got his license plate number.

So I debated with myself for about 5 minutes and called the property manager and left him a message about what happened.

What a slimeball.

He called me back a few minutes ago and said the mailboxes are not something provided by the landlord. I told him they were here when I moved in and shouldn't the persons car insurance cover it? He said that would probably take a police report. He asked me if we got mail here. I told him I have a PO box but ocassionally get mail here. And that the family in the back house get their mail here. He said he was going out of town until Tuesday and could I call him Tuesday morning to remind him to call the couple in the studio so they can talk to their friend.

I should have just called the police to report it.

Or, just shrugged it off.

But, I firmly believe people should take responsibility for their actions. The guy who knocked it over should have told his friends what happened. He should have apologized and offered to repair it at his expense.

I'm so tired of people getting away with shit like this. I'm going to talk to the people in the back house and I believe I'll talk to the couple in the studio (whose friend did the damage).

I don't want this situation to get ugly. But I also don't want someone to get away with damaging someones property.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....now I'm stuck in the middle.
